About Unbiased Brief

Unbiased Brief is a planned daily email of strictly factual political news. It reports what happened, who said what, and where the information comes from. On contested stories, each side's strongest case is attributed and sourced.

The method

We set out the facts in neutral language, without a house opinion or editorialising. When people disagree, their strongest arguments sit side by side, attributed to the people or groups making them. We leave the conclusions to you.

Factual claims within those arguments go through the same checks as every other claim. Our editorial standards explain the process.

Who publishes it

Unbiased Brief is published by LetterHouseMedia, a publisher of email newsletters. You can find its sister newsletters on the Unbiased Brief home page.

How it is made

Our newsroom is AI-assisted. AI models draft issues, then an automated process breaks factual sentences into claims and checks them against saved copies of their sources. The fact-checkers do not see the publication's viewpoint or which side a claim belongs to.

Where things stand

Unbiased Brief has not sent its first issue yet. Signups are not open, and the schedule is still being set. Published issues will appear in the archive. Errors will be recorded on the corrections page.
